Gran tour Sacred Mountains, Unesco Heritage Tejeda & Artenara (Back to the list)

Gran Canaria is known as a "continent in miniature". During this grand tour, we will enjoy stunning views from Tejeda or Artenara, recently named Sacred Mountains from Unesco Heritage. These charming villages absolutely authentic and surrounded by volcanic canyons and landscapes as Miguel Unamuno called petrified tempest. At the end of tour we´ll have opportunity of tasting almond candys.

Itinerary

Do not miss this Grand Tour. We will take you to charming villages and stunning views on the island. We will start with a visit to Moya, its lookout & church and the Tomás Morales house museum. Stop for a coffee and local biscuits.

We will be heading up through laurisilva forest, to Fontanales, with its green mountains and famous cheese factories. Stop for lunch (optional) in Artenara. This village  is very authentic with its cave-houses and its unusual landscapes, will captivate you. Recently Risco caído complex has been nominated by UNESCO HERITAGE, because of the legacy of our aborigens.

We will end up in Tejeda, cataloged as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.

From October to March, there is a visit to a local cheese farm. (optional cheese tasting for 4 € adults and € 2.00 children)

  • Pick up clients staying at the capital, please check several locations for that.
  • Meeting point for those are staying outside the city at HOTEL PARQUE 09.40 hr.(it is located upon your arrival by bus from south to central bus station San Telmo)
  • Lunch is optional from 8 euros.
  • Tour involves quite winding roads.
  • From October til March there is a cheese tasting optional for 4 euros.
